Sculpture - Three Angel Musicians

For this assignment, I decided to visit the Norton Simon Museum placed in Pasadena, California, located whole a few miles forth from the legendary Rose sphere stadium. The Norton Simon Museum has plenty of pre-renaissance paintings and grades. One figure/statue that stood out for me was titled terce Angel Musicians. The artist is non specific altogethery stated in this piece merely it comes from the Pisan civilise. This scratch is make of white stain and stands or so 20.5 inches high for severally figure. Each angel participant is seen holding a diametric official document. The left angel is seen compete a gittern. A zither is an ancient musical braid that closely resembles a harp, but the somebody plucks the strings of the zither when it is positioned horizontally across the persons body. The center angel is compete a bagpipe, although the features of the bagpipe ease up it difficult to identify what instrument this is. The right angel is playing on a put of timbrels, which look like light drums that ar worn across the persons waist. The Pisan School is named after the Italian metropolis named Pisa, which is probably where this mold was made from.\nThe sculpture was located in a room surround by various Italian tapestries. The figure is pretty half-size to see from far aside so I took a closer look at the sculpture so I could see the different curves, lines and features of the angels that are present. The great thing about the Norton Simon Museum is that the staff allows patrons to take pictures of paintings or any type of prowess because many students comes to this museum for their art-related papers. The figures in this sculpture look like women, who are probably older in age, possibly around their fifties. They are wearing garments that resemble a toga from Greek culture.
